Events: Week of Aug 29-Sept 4

Dear PHCF,

Welcome (officially) to the new school year! This summer has blown by... and we are so thankful for the many friends we've made among the new MPH students at the School of Public Health and others from schools/campuses beyond the SPH. Many thanks to those who joined us for prayer this last week/end; all glory to our God who delights in bringing people together - and in supplying us the joy we need and desire in him! Please continue to pray that we not neglect to meet together but rather keep on encouraging one another, and that God has his way among us at JHSPH this year.

This week, we do NOT have our weekly lunch discussion because the MPH'ers have break / new students have orientation.

However, please join us and the Johns Hopkins International Fellowship at a Labor Day Barbeque at our dear friends BJ and Marty's house in Reisterstown on Saturday Sept 3rd, 3:30pm-7:30pm with dinner at 5! It should be a lovely time with new friends and old; plus a pool to splash in, a trampoline to bounce on, and pingpong to play in the basement!
More details here. Please register here so that we can arrange rides!

Also, if you are interested in helping out at the fall activities fair on Thursday Sept 1st, 11:30am-1pm (you get to spend time with Shawn, Mary, and Teresa! and get a free lunch! and if you can only be there for a part of the time, that's very okay), please email Shawn at sdu5@jhu.edu. Thanks!

Finally, a piece of Scripture that I have been holding onto this morning: Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer. -- Psalm 19:14 (a really nice rendition by Fernando Ortega: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7DZcZZuO6oo)
