Faculty speaker at lunch tomorrow, and other announcements

Dear PHCF,

Welcome back from the Thanksgiving break - hope that you are well rested and refreshed! We have now entered the season of Advent: of looking forward to the arrival of our Lord Jesus Christ. Some Christian traditions use these four weeks leading up to Christmas to remember four of the virtues Jesus brings: Hope, Love, Joy and Peace. As we anticipate his coming, may we each lean into the tension of both being still before him and working for his kingdom. In the morning, LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly. (Psalm 5:3)

Some announcements:

1. Faculty guest at weekly PHCF meeting tomorrow (Tuesday) at 12:15pm in Room E2133 -- Dr. Darrell Gaskin from the Department of Health, Policy, and Management will be speaking. Come, bring your lunch, and join us in fellowship!

2. Advent Concert this weekend -- Faith Christian Fellowship, a church in Pen Lucy (close to Charles Village/Homewood campus), holds an annual Advent concert and bazaar. There will be performances from Peabody musicians, skits by the Sunday school kids, and carols and gospel music from the church choir. Performances are at 3pm and 7pm, with the bazaar in between. Address: 505 E. 42nd St Baltimore, MD 21218

3. Spring 2017 schedule preferences -- Looking forward to third/fourth term and changing schedules, we would like to continue being faithful to meet as a fellowship. Please let me know your preference for (1) day(s) of the week and (2) lunch vs afternoon vs evening -- will try to pick a regular day/time that most can come!

4. CMDA Retreat -- the Medical Student Christian Fellowship has invited us to join in on the annual Christian Medical and Dental Association Northeast Conference. It is Jan 13-15, 2017, in Harvey Cedars, NJ. There'll be a group going together from Hopkins; email me if you're interested! More details here: https://cmda.org/events/detail/wc2017
