Tuesday lunch meeting (Dr. Perry!), Music, and Thanksgiving

Dear PHCF,

What a blustery start to the week -- phew! And if you're walking outside, I encourage you to pause a moment and be kind to some of the men and women who've been out on the streets in the cold and wind all day. A Scripture I've been mulling on: But seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the LORD on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare. (Jer 29:7) -- and a prayer for all of us to remember that God has deliberately placed us where we are, though we are citizens of his heavenly kingdom. May he continue revealing to each of us what it means to seek shalom though our attitudes, thoughts, words, and actions.

Some announcements:

1) Our weekly PHCF meeting is tomorrow (Tuesday) at 12:15pm in Room E2133. Dr. Henry Perry, from the Department of International Health, will speak on “Contributions of medical missionaries and Christian organizations to the global primary health care movement.” Come, bring your lunch, and fellowship with us!

2) For music-lovers... A pretty amazing artist called Jae Jin, who is a Hopkins grad and a two-time survivor of leukemia (PTL), is offering a "name your own price" for his latest album KAIROS - digital version, including two bonus tracks, one of which is with Tim Be Told! Link here: https://jaejinmusic.bandcamp.com/album/kairos

3) Thanksgiving:
PHCF isn't doing a formal gathering for Thanksgiving this year (though we joined in several interministry events this past weekend) - but if you are staying in Baltimore and do not yet have plans for Thursday, please contact me! =) I would love to connect you with friends who are gathering together!

Much praise to our God and Father who has called us to be his sons and daughters - so that no matter how far we are from "home", we can find family. ^_^ Enjoy the short week, hopefully see you tomorrow, and happy Thanksgiving!
