Dear Public Health Christian Fellowship, In one of his great I AM statements, Jesus preached to the people,  "I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won't be stumbling through the darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life."  (John 8:12) Brothers and sisters in the School of Public Health, will you trust in the Lord to be the light that leads to life, following Jesus with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength? Will you trust him to set your feet on the solid rock, leading you in a path that may seem twisty turny in the midst of it but when you look back you can say that truly he has made your paths straight (Prov 3:6)? Dear Public Health Christian Fellowship, Just wanted to share Paul's mid-letter prayer for the church in Ephesus this morning, as many of us wrestle through finals or projects or papers or deadlines of various sorts -  For this reason, I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord's holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge - that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.  Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus through all g

Dear Public Health Christian Fellowship, When David was in the wilderness of Judah, he wrote:  My soul clings to you; your right hand upholds me  (Ps 63:8). In the midst of turmoil - in political elections (in the US and other countries), in our own wrestling over work and school and projects and deadlines, in uncertainty or unsettledness - we pray that we too hold onto the Lord; for he is the true vine and we are the branches (Jn 15:5). May we taste his goodness - and may it both satisfy us and make us thirsty for more (A.W. Tozer,  The Pursuit of God ).
