Fri 11am ET Bible study, Annual Retreat, Prayer Request, Book recommendation, and more

 Dear Public Health Christian Fellowship,

"As you know, we count as blessed those who have persevered. You have heard of Job's perseverance and have seen what the Lord finally brought about. The Lord is full of compassion and mercy." James 5:11
Earlier this week, I had a chance to reflect on Job's story. I realized that what we all are facing is far from what Job went through. Can't you imagine being in Job position? Brothers and sisters, remember that "No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it." 1 Cor 10:13
I pray that we do not "lose hearts" and continue to put our hopes and dreams to God as Job did so that God can see our faithfulness until the end of our lives.

But you can also add your name if you want to! Form link.

3) InterVarsity's annual Retreat
InterVarsity's annual Northeast Grad Fall Retreat is going online, and you're invited! The Retreat, titled Longing for Wholeness, will start at 7 pm ET on Friday, October 9th and end Saturday, October 10th at 6 pm ET.  Join with other graduate students across the Northeast to worship God, make new friends, and learn about how faith, our longings, our work, and justice intersect.  We will have two virtual large group together times, an extended opportunity to be away from our screens with God, small groups by schools, and an optional prayer ministry time.  JHSPH's own Anbrasi Edward will be a panelist for one of the Saturday seminars. We will also have an afternoon seminar to hear from Christians in the workplace about how they integrate their faith with their work. For more details and to register, go to https://www.bostongradiv.org/fallretreat2020.html
