Special talk in Feinstone tomorrow noon, 832 Symposium, CCIH and CCHF conference/scholarships

Dear PHCF,

For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and all were made to drink of one Spirit. (1 Cor 12:12-13) As Paul exhorts the church at Corinth that they are one body with many members, so too for us. Praying this morning that, as spread out we are in geography or work focus, we are united through the Spirit in Christ.

Please note: today we do not have our usual Wednesday gathering. Instead, we encourage you to attend/pray for Wai Jia's Thursday lunch talk in Feinstone Hall 12noon (more details in 1. Prayer requests below).

You are welcome to join us at any/all of our recurring gatherings:
- Lunch meetings on Wednesdays at 12:15pm in Room W2033 (contact PHCF)
- Small group on Mondays at 7:30pm in the 929 Apartments (contact Esther)
- Writing Accountability Group (i.e. study group) on Fridays at 4pm (contact Teresa)

1. Prayer requests:
  • Pray for our sister Wai Jia (MPH candidate '18) whose Kitesong Global social venture kickoff event will be held tomorrow Thurs Feb 1 at 12pm in Feinstone. Pray for the Lord to give her His words to share for this event, that many at Hopkins would be touched and drawn to the light of Christ. Praise God that the SPH is providing a room, as well as cake! Pray for provision and favor: for her books to be restocked on Amazon in time and for people to support (www.amazon.com/author/waijia). She would love to have fellow believers there, just to silently pray alongside her during the event (and enjoy food and engage in conversation)!
  • Pray for the beginning of the spring semester/3rd term - for fresh energy and "doing all work for the glory of God".
  • Pray for prospective/new students, as they wait for admission decisions and consider where to attend, that God brings exactly who he wants to JHSPH at exactly the right time.
  • Pray for our PHCF brothers and sisters who are currently afar for work/practicum/missions/dissertation research, for traveling mercies on their way back to Baltimore.
2. Housing opportunityLovely private bedroom and bathroom available in Charles Village, $650/month. All utilities and furniture included; shared common space including large fully equipped kitchen, dining room, and living room. The landlords' heart is to make this house open to international students and scholars, and for those who have a heart to interact with internationals too. The event will include a keynote talk by Nigel Cameron, field-specific discussion panels, and a networking lunch.

RSVP here! (If you are interested in helping out - whether for food, marketing, setup, logistics, moderating, contacting speakers, fundraising, prayer - please let Teresa know!)
