Wed Bible study/prayer W2303, praises/prayers, and more

Dear Public Health Christian Fellowship,

Do you feel weary this morning, stretched thin and taut, your attention spread in all directions in our rapid-paced, overstimulating culture? In Matt 11:28, Jesus says, Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Will you hear his voice, lay your struggles and fears before him, and draw close to him? Likewise, Paul writes: Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words (Rom 8:26).

Brothers and sisters, we pray for those of you finishing midterms this week (especially those taking the Biostats midterm this morning!) and for those working on job/scholarship applications and grants. May God strengthen you with focus and clarity, so that your work (your studies) bring him much glory. We pray too for the brokenness of this world, for Parkland and grief, and wisdom in figuring out what next. Lord, will you show us the way you want us to walk?

This Wednesday, we will meet in Room W2303 (room change!) for Bible study (p16-19) and prayer. There will be dessert :) and we'll also talk about plans for the rest of the year.

For those who are staying at JHSPH/in Baltimore after May, we are also looking to expand the PHCF leadership team - please pray! and email jhsph.phcf@gmail.com if you're interested in seeing what role you can play in this group.

You are welcome to join us at any/all of our recurring gatherings:- Lunch meetings on Wednesdays at 12:15pm in Room W2303 *note room change! (contact PHCF)
- Small group on Mondays at 7:30pm in the 929 Apartments (contact Esther)
- Writing Accountability Group (i.e. study group) on Fridays at 4pm (contact Teresa)

Let me know if you have any questions. I would love to help! - Jessie Thomas

Psalm 73:23-26
Yet I am always with you;
    you hold me by my right hand.
You guide me with your counsel,
    and afterward you will take me into glory.
Whom have I in heaven but you?
    And earth has nothing I desire besides you.
My flesh and my heart may fail,
    but God is the strength of my heart
    and my portion forever.
