Easter! Talk tonight at Homewood! Special Saturday PHCF gathering! and more

Dear Public Health Christian Fellowship, Welcome back for the 4th term - and what a special time it is: Holy Week, a special time to remember the path of celebration, teaching, betrayal, suffering, death, and resurrection that Jesus took for the sake of the world, for each of us. ( Here's a song to reflect on. ) With our brethren in  Christian Connections for International Health , let us give p raise for the loving sacrifice of Jesus, who suffered and died so we may have eternal life.  Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, "Drink from it, all of you. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins." ( Mt 26:27-28)  Pray that we continue to be inspired by our Christian faith to serve those in need. Give thanks for those who integrate their faith into their lifesaving work - and for God giving each of us good work to do! This week, we are going to have a special  PHCF gathering ...

Wed 12:15pm prayer mtg W3011, Easter, worship night, and more

Dear Public Health Christian Fellowship, How quiet it is in the SPH on spring break! (and what a "wintry mix" first day of spring we're having, eh?) Praying that wherever you are right now -- geographically or in your walk with the Lord -- that you can say alongside the psalmist (Ps 62:1-2):  I am at rest in God alone; my salvation comes from Him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my stronghold; I will never be shaken.  ( song version here ) Over break, may you receive the rest and peace in your hearts that could only come from God. This Wednesday over the lunch hour (12:15-1:15pm), Teresa will lead prayer meeting in Room W3011 - let's take some time to lift up burdens, fears, and praises to the Lord, even as we remember his immutable character and his demonstration of love for us, that  even while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us  (Rom 5:8). There will probably be snacks too :) for whose of you who are around! Please feel free to  email praye...

Wed lunch mtg W2303, and more announcements

Dear Public Health Christian Fellowship, Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name;  make known among the nations what he has done. Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts. Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice. Look to the Lord and his strength;  seek his face always. ( Ps 105:1-4 ) Brothers and sisters, in the midst of trial or uncertainty, we pray that you rest confident in our Lord who is God over all and remembers his covenant forever and has rescued you from the slavery of your old self and renews you day by day. For those entering finals period, we pray for focus and diligence in your studies and projects/papers; for those seeking "what next", we pray that you continue walking step by step with the Spirit. May the Word be a lamp for your feet, and a light on your path. Most of all, we pray that you cling to the redeeming love and grace of Jesus. This Wednesday, we will meet in Room W2303 ...
