Ice cream social meet-and-greet Wed 12:15 W2033, and other announcements

Dear PHCF,

As the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to my empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. (Is 55:10-11). Tonight, will you believe in the power and steadfast promise of God's word? In the midst of confusion or disappointment or feeling overwhelmed or much joy and excitement, will you choose to surrender to him, choose to seek after him, choose to trust that he is with you? Praying for each of you tonight to cling tightly to Jesus no matter your circumstances, and that he becomes even more precious to you today than yesterday. I also wanted to share a song for meditation: One Thing.

Our first PHCF meeting of the new academic year will be tomorrow Wednesday 7/18, 12:15pm - an ice cream social meet-and-greet (for PHCF'ers old and new) in Room W2033 (across from Paige Hall/W2030).

1. Praises and prayers:

• Christian Connections in International Health conference in Baltimore (Hopkins Homewood campus) this weekend - praise for good worship and linkages among groups and individuals for the mission that God has for our world.
• MPH Candidate Wai Jia is setting up Kitesong Global, a ministry that aims to use the power of narrative through her picture books to uphold social justice and empower the underprivileged. • Pray for the persecuted church around the world.

• Pray for incoming students on their way to Baltimore! For God's direction, for living situations, for spiritual community.
• Pray for our PHCF brothers and sisters who are currently afar for work/practicum/missions/dissertation research, for favor in their work and traveling mercies.
• Pray for our PHCF brothers and sisters who recently graduated (or are graduating soon), finishing their capstones/theses/dissertations, and/or who are seeking God's direction/calling for jobs and career. May we trust in God's plans more than our own, for his ways are higher than our ways and his thoughts than our thoughts (Is 55:9)

Registration ($110 for students) is currently ongoing for the global missions health conference! Price increases next week. GMHC is a weekend of encouragement, networking, learning, and much more.
