New Tues Bible study (book of John) starting today!, Wed lunch mtg tmrw, and more!

Dear PHCF,

It's midterm time for MPH'ers and almost moving time for new fall students! In the middle of lots of change (and pressing to-do's), it can be hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel. But as Christians, we have hope, and we need to resist despair in light of that hope. We may fully expect to be “afflicted in every way, but not [finally] crushed; perplexed but not driven to despair” (2 Corinthians 4:8-9). Why? Because we trust in Jesus (a related song here). Praying this morning for you, that "the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope."

Starting this Tuesday (today!), Travis Roberts (MPH candidate) will be holding a Bible study on the book of John in Room W9514 (9th floor conference room next to the stairs that open by the Garden Plate). These studies will be 11am-1pm over the summer and 12noon-1:15pm starting in Sept. Everyone is welcome; please feel free to invite your non-Christian friends too. If you don't own a Bible, Travis will bring a copy of John for you - please email traviswmroberts@gmail.com (or text 202-468-4361) so he knows! RSVP'ing to Travis would be great, but you're welcome to just show up!

Tomorrow, we will meet in Room W2033 at 12:15pm (across from Paige Hall/W2030) for Bible study (Flourishing in grad school) and prayer, led by Jessica. We will have a few Bibles available, but please feel free to bring your own (or a phone) to read along and discuss. (Passage: John 15:1-8)

If you have prayers, reflections, songs, or announcements you'd like to share with the rest of PHCF (or individual questions/comments for the PHCF leaders), please email jhsph.phcf@gmail.com!

Grace and peace,
Teresa - for PHCF
