Tues Bible study 12p W9514, Wed lunch mtg 1215p W2033, and more

Dear Public Health Christian Fellowship,

Isaiah recounts in chapter 30 Israel's rebellion - unwilling to hear the word of the Lord, going their own way, seeking strength in other places. Yet God is gracious and merciful: For thus said the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, "In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and in trust shall be your strength." (Is 30:15) Brothers and sisters, praying for your salvation and strength to be found in Jesus alone today - that you see his presence in the books and papers and materials you have before you to study, and in the assignments that are due, in the people you meet in class, in the office, or in transit. May God fill you with his extra special grace today - grace for yourself where you feel lacking but he brings you to completion, and grace for others too. And here's a good song for reflection and meditation.

Today Tues at 12noon, join Travis Roberts (MPH candidate) will be holding a Bible study on the book of John in Room W9514 (9th floor conference room next to the stairs that open by the Garden Plate). Everyone is welcome; please feel free to invite your non-Christian friends too. If you don't own a Bible, Travis will bring a copy of John for you - please email traviswmroberts@gmail.com (or text 202-468-4361) so he knows! RSVP'ing to Travis would be great, but you're welcome to just show up!

Tomorrow Wed at 12:15pm, we will meet in Room W2033 (across from Paige Hall/W2030) for Bible study (Flourishing in grad school) and prayer. We will have a few Bibles available, but please feel free to bring your own (or a phone) to read along and discuss. (Passage: Mark 1:21-39)

New PHCF whatsapp group: we've heard some interest in a whatsapp group for easier communication/support/sharing/prayer during the week outside of our meetings / beyond emails. We'll set this up on Wed, and you can also opt-in to joining this group by whatsapp-ing your name/number to Teresa or Jessica.

If you have prayers, reflections, songs, or announcements you'd like to share with the rest of PHCF (or individual questions/comments for the PHCF leaders), please email jhsph.phcf@gmail.com!

Grace and peace,
Teresa - for PHCF

I wanted to pass along a great opportunity that my church is offering this September. It is a series called, "Discovering Christ", and it is open to anyone and everyone who wants to deepen their understanding and relationship with Jesus. You do not have to be associated with any religion or church to be part of this. We are open to all!

Oh - and it is completely FREE.

What will we do?
- We'd start the night by gathering for a meal as a community

- Break into small groups and participate in a discussion
- Make new friends!
