Tues Bible study (12pm W9514), Wed lunch mtg (12:15pm W2033), and other announcements

Dear PHCF,

Paul writes in his letter to the church of Philippi: for to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain (Phil 1:21). Brothers and sisters, praying that today the way you live your life can "be instrumental to advance the honor and interest of the kingdom of Christ in the world" (Matthew Henry's commentary) in your words, deeds, and attitudes - at school, at work, on the road, at home. May your hope be rooted not on your work or abilities but on Christ our savior. Along the same lines, here is a song for meditation/reflection

Today at noon, join Travis Roberts (MPH candidate) will be holding a Bible study on the book of John in Room W9514 (9th floor conference room next to the stairs that open by the Garden Plate). Generally, these studies will be 11am-1pm over the summer (except today) and 12noon-1:15pm starting in Sept. Everyone is welcome; please feel free to invite your non-Christian friends too. If you don't own a Bible, Travis will bring a copy of John for you - please email traviswmroberts@gmail.com (or text 202-468-4361) so he knows! RSVP'ing to Travis would be great, but you're welcome to just show up!

Tomorrow at 12:15pm, we will meet in Room W2033 (across from Paige Hall/W2030) for Bible study (Flourishing in grad school) and prayer. We will have a few Bibles available, but please feel free to bring your own (or a phone) to read along and discuss. (Passage: Jeremiah 29:1,4-14)

New PHCF whatsapp group: we've heard some interest in a whatsapp group for easier communication/support/sharing/prayer during the week outside of our meetings / beyond emails. We'll set this up on Wed, and you can also opt-in to joining this group by whatsapp-ing your name/number to Teresa or Jessica.

If you have prayers, reflections, songs, or announcements you'd like to share with the rest of PHCF (or individual questions/comments for the PHCF leaders), please email jhsph.phcf@gmail.com!

Grace and peace,
Teresa - for PHCF

It is a series called, "Discovering Christ", and it is open to anyone and everyone who wants to deepen their understanding and relationship with Jesus. You do not have to be associated with any religion or church to be part of this. We are open to all!

Oh - and it is completely FREE.

What will we do?
- We'd start the night by gathering for a meal as a community
