Faculty speaker at lunch tomorrow, and other announcements

Dear PHCF, Welcome back from the Thanksgiving break - hope that you are well rested and refreshed! We have now entered the season of Advent: of looking forward to the arrival of our Lord Jesus Christ. Some Christian traditions use these four weeks leading up to Christmas to remember four of the virtues Jesus brings: Hope, Love, Joy and Peace. As we anticipate his coming, may we each lean into the tension of both being still before him and working for his kingdom. In the morning, LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly. (Psalm 5:3) Some announcements: 1. Faculty guest at weekly PHCF meeting tomorrow (Tuesday) at 12:15pm in Room E2133 -- Dr. Darrell Gaskin from the Department of Health, Policy, and Management will be speaking. Tuesday lunch meeting (Dr. Perry!), Music, and Thanksgiving

Dear PHCF, What a blustery start to the week -- phew! And if you're walking outside, I encourage you to pause a moment and be kind to some of the men and women who've been out on the streets in the cold and wind all day. A Scripture I've been mulling on: But seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the LORD on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare. (Jer 29:7) -- and a prayer for all of us to remember that God has deliberately placed us where we are, though we are citizens of his heavenly kingdom. May he continue revealing to each of us what it means to seek shalom though our attitudes, thoughts, words, and actions. Some announcements: 1) Our weekly PHCF meetin g is tomorrow (Tuesday) at 12:15pm in Room E2133.
