Wed lunch mtg and other announcements

Dear PHCF, Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. (Mt 11:28). In remembrance of Lent starting tomorrow (for those of you who observe), our Wednesday lunchtime gathering will be a prayer meeting -- time to reflect and share, and to lift up our adoration, confession, thanksgiving, and supplications up to the Most High. Hope to see you there! Blessings, Teresa and Shawn Other announcements: Law and Morality speaker series at Homewood: March 7, April 4 - 7pm Samaritan's Purse Ebola documentary - 3/30 (movie outing!) [belated] Wed lunch mtg W2300 & other announcements

Dear PHCF, What a beautiful Tuesday! Spring always reminds me of new beginnings and growth. One of the things I love about God is HIS emphasis on newness (especially contrasted with our typical same-old, same-old lives): - He gives us new songs of praise ( Ps 40:3 ) - He gives us an undivided heart and renewed spirit ( Ez 11:19 ) - He makes new ways out of the wilderness ( Is 43:19 ) - He has given us a fresh start ( 2 Cor 5:17 ) Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow at 12:15pm in W2300! We will have snacks to supplement your lunch. ;-) Shawn will be leading us in lectio diniva (scripture reading, meditation, and prayer) over a Psalm. Finally, thank you to those of you who came to the symposium on Saturday! We were SO encouraged to see so many present, and hope that you were encouraged too -- by the speakers' sharing and the opportunity to connect with other believers around the Hopkins campuses! God bless, Teresa Other announcements: CCIH Conference at Homewood July 13-15, regis

No Wed mtg this week, but Conference Saturday!

Dear PHCF, We will not be having our regular Wednesday lunch meeting this week -- instead, join us at a fantastic panel set up on Understanding American Muslims in Sommer Hall at noon tomorrow! We also wanted to remind you about the symposium on Christian Faith, Reason, and Vocation this Saturday: please join us and spread the word to your friends and colleagues! We hope that this will be a time of much encouragement as we connect, listen, and learn from one another across the various Hopkins schools/campuses -- all for the glory of our God, as we pursue unity as a Church and practice serving him in our studies and work in Baltimore and beyond. The Rock, his work is perfect, for all his ways are justice. A God of faithfulness and without iniquity, just and upright is he. Thoughts on security. And many announcements!

Dear PHCF, Borrowing words today from Fabs Harford (click link to read a wonderful blogpost). May they be secure who love you. This is a proverb, a prayer, a hope - given to a God who hears. And if we turn the phrase around, we conclude that those who love you will be secure . Lord, we pray that today, we find our security in you alone. May we take that greatest commandment as truth: to love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.  And out of the abundance of this love, may we be able to turn and love your neighbor as yourself - and recognize our neighbors in the people we interact with in class, at work, and out on the street. Announcements: 1. General PHCF spring schedule Please join us at any/all of our recurring gatherings: - Lunch meetings on Wednesdays at 12:15pm in Room W2300* *W2300 is in the hidden hallway of 2nd floor: go to the atrium next to W2008; the hallway with W2300 is next to the copy machine -
