Wed lunch mtg W2033, Centennial Park Picnic 6/10, and other announcements!

Dear PHCF, It's so quiet today post-holiday (and post-graduation) with folks taking (or studying for) comprehensive exams! I wanted to share a verse that was on my heart today from Jeremiah 31: For I will satisfy the weary soul, and every languishing soul I will replenish. (v25) And no longer shall each one teach his neighbor and each his brother, saying, “Know the Lord,” for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, declares the Lord. For I will forgive their iniquity and I will remember their sin no more. (v34) What a promise this is: true satisfaction for the weary, forgiveness for sinners, and knowing the Lord - which is eternal life. This afternoon, may you rest and be rejuvenated because he knows and cares for you. May the work of your hands and words of your mouth be pleasing to him - and point others to the only one who can save. Please continue praying for people's life transitions to new schools/jobs/cities - for both those leaving and those comi

Congratulations graduates! Wed lunch mtg W2300, and other announcements

Dear PHCF, Good morning! Psalm 146 proclaims: Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord his God, who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, who keeps faith forever; who executes justice for the oppressed, who gives food to the hungry. (vv5-7) Congratulations to all those who are graduating today! We are so proud of you and give praise to the Lord who has sustained and grown you this year - to him be the glory, honor, and praise! We pray that the joy of the Lord is your strength, for those who are now jobseeking (or preparing for comprehensive exams, or oral exams, or proposal/thesis defenses, or continuing work! so everyone!). Wherever you go and whatever you do, may you be hungry for Him - and be salt and light for His sake. Please also keep in prayer the incoming class of MPHers (many of whom are arriving in the next few weeks) for their transition to Baltimore, for rootedness and spiritual community. For the summer, we

Dear PHCF, May the opening words of Psalm 67 (vv1-3) be your heartbeat today: May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face to shine upon us, that your way may be known on earth, your saving power among all nations. Let the peoples praise you, O God; let all the peoples praise you! Brothers and sisters, as you finish up fourth term this week, working on final papers, presentations, and exams, may the Lord be your strength and your song. Hold tight to He who will never leave nor forsake you, who calls you beloved, who is mighty to save, who helps you grow more and more into Christ-likeness. Many events/announcements this week!

Dear PHCF, Paul writes in the beginning of his letter to the Philippians, I am sure of this, that He who started a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Many of you may feel stressed or burdened right now - with school, with work, with relationships, with politics, with world events, with finding work - but we pray for you to rest your hope of Jesus, who is our advocate before God our Father and also our guide in this crazy and confusing life. May he give you enough grace for today, that you can hold onto your hope for tomorrow. He is faithful. [and if you need a listening ear or someone to pray with, please let us know] See you at our weekly meeting this Wednesday at 12:15pm in Room W2300 =) Grace and peace, Teresa Announcements: Technology for Development Webinar (free) - this Thursday 5/4, 1pm EST Worship conference (HOPE Church) - this weekend!
