Ebola grand rounds today, and other announcements

Dear PHCF, At the end of Deuteronomy, as Moses gives final instructions to the Israelites before they enter the Promised Land, he exhorts them: Choose life so that you and your descendants may live, love the Lord your God, obey him, and remain faithful to Him. For he is your life... (Deut 30:19-20). It is midterm season (and transition season for many of us! as folks look forward to new jobs or preparing thesis proposals and many unknowns), and so we pray for your faith in His faithfulness to be strengthened today - because God is provider, healer, restorer, sustainer, king, and friend. May you find him to be more than enough today. A song for those of you who are ministered to by music: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P4S8ne-xU0E Please also pray for leadership transitions (if you're around this summer/next year and interested in leadership, please contact Teresa / Shawn ) and for new students as they plan for their move to Baltimore/Hopkins. Finally, Shawn and Teresa are not on

[belated] Worship @Gallery tonight, Lunch mtg @W2300 Wednesday, and more!

Dear brothers and sisters, He is Risen! This Easter, we celebrate Christ's death and resurrection - for our freedom and reconciliation and His glory! As you go about your studies this week, we pray that you work with diligence and perseverance, knowing that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spo t (1 Peter 1:18-19). Some good Easter reading and conviction: https://www.thegospelcoalition.org/article/follow-the-women-at-the-tomb This week, we have two events. We're invited to Gallery Church's Worship Night tonight (details below). At Wednesday's lunch meeting (room W2300), we will assess our "emotionally healthy spirituality" -- and discuss and pray over how we can encourage accountability in our walks with the Lord and one another as the school year comes to a close. Blessings, Teresa -

It is Holy Week! Wed prayer mtg W2300, Easter celebrations, and more

Dear PHCF, May grace and peace be yours in abundance! Our hearts are heavy for the persecuted church around the world - and especially for our Coptic brothers and sisters who are mourning in Egypt over the church bombings on Palm Sunday. This Holy Week as we look forward to Jesus' path to the cross, to his death and resurrection, may you rest in the work that He has done on your behalf -- and invite others to know fullness of joy through him as well! This Wednesday, Shawn will lead us in a special time of prayer, using ancient liturgy to guide us in adoration, confession, supplication, and reflection. Bring your lunch; we'll have some snacks! Looking forward to a sweet time of fellowship in the middle of the week! In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight making known to us the mystery of his will, according to his purpose, which he set forth in Chris

Wed lunch/prayer mtg W2300 and other announcements

Dear PHCF, "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life." ( John 6:68 ) May these words spoken by Simon Peter be your heartbeat this week - may your words, thoughts, heart attitudes, and actions all stem from Him as your firm foundation. For our meeting this week (12:15pm in Room W2300), we will have a time of extended prayer for our school, campus, city, and nation - as well as individual prayer requests. For those of you finishing your capstones, theses, or Master's essays this week, we pray for your diligence all for his glory! (Side note: for those of you who identify as Reformed, or who like John Piper/Tim Keller/Kevin DeYoung/etc, the livestream of the Gospel Coalition's annual conference is available here: http://live.tgc.org/tgc-national-conference/ - thru Wednesday!)
