Fri 11am ET Bible study, JHIF international students kickoff meeting, and more

Dear Public Health Christian Fellowship, "Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave--just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many." Mat 20:26b-28  Brothers and sisters, I know it may be hard as what is perceived as  "greatness"  in the world--wealth, power, and influence--differs from what is greatness according to God's standard: serving. I pray that we may continue to humble ourselves, serve others, and persevere in it--just as Jesus did. A few things coming up: 1) Friday Bible Study 11am ET,  Zoom link 2)  PRAYER REQUEST !  Dear Public Health Christian Fellowship, "Jesus replied: Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment."  (Mat 22:37-38).  Dear brothers and sisters, I pray that may we always hang on this first and foremost commandment; to love our God through thoughts, deeds, and actions--more than we love other things that might come across our life. PS: I found this chart is useful  for my self-reflection, taken from Tim Keller's book - Counterfeit gods. A few things coming up: 1) Friday Bible Study 11am ET,  Zoom link 2)  PRAYER REQUEST ! Friday 11am ET Bible study

Dear Public Health Christian Fellowship, When I had lost all hope, I turned my thoughts once more to the Lord  (Jonah 2:7). Dear brothers and sisters, this week I learned a lot about Jonah. How he felt hopeless and ran from God's purpose. But because of God's grace, He gave him a second chance. When I reflected on Jonah's life, I could not imagine how scary it might be: sank into the ocean and was swallowed by a large fish. It might tempt me to say, "This is it, the end of my life! How cruel God is!" However, Jonah seized his second chance and " turned his thoughts to Lord ". Once again, our God is all-knowing, all-powerful, and all-loving God. So despite all desperate circumstances in our life and surroundings, I pray that we will continue " turning our thoughts to Lord " and " living to see the Lord's goodness in this present life ." (Ps 27:13) A few things coming up: 1) Friday Bible Study 11am ET,  Zoom link 2)  PRAYER REQUEST ...
